Blackbaud Conference for Nonprofits to Feature Leading Experts on Social Media for Social Change

Attendees to learn about how their nonprofits can best leverage social media to further their causes

(Nasdaq: BLKB) today announced two of the three featuredpresentations that will take place at its annual Conference for Nonprofits inWashington, D.C. on October 20 to 22, 2010. New to the Conference this year,there will be a Technology Keynote session, featuring Allison Fine and BethKanter, best-selling authors of the recently-released book “The Networked Nonprofit.” The Conference will alsofeature a Social Media for Nonprofits Ignite! event with leading social mediaexperts from Causes, TwitPic, Twitter, and YouTube.

Blackbaud’s 2010 Conference for Nonprofits — NorthAmerica is one of the top two largest nonprofit technologyconferences in the world. It will provide nonprofit professionals with threedays of specialized educational content and opportunities to network andinteract with peers and nonprofit experts. This year’s Conference will be heldat a new location—The Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center atNational Harbor. 

The Technology Keynote session, featuring AllisonFine and Beth Kanter, will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2010.Allison Fine, author and speaker, will lead a conversation about how nonprofitscan scale social change using social media and networks. Beth Kanter, author of Beth’s Blog, chiefexecutive officer of Zoetica, and visitingscholar at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation will make a virtualguest appearance.

The Social Media for Nonprofits Ignite! eventwill take place on Wednesday, October 20 at 5 p.m. and will featurerepresentatives from leading social media platforms. In true Ignite style, each presenter will have five minutes topresent 20 slides about their nonprofit programs and initiatives. The event willfeature Matthew Mahan, vice president of impact at Causes; Noah Everett, founder of TwitPic; Claire Williams who works on social innovationat Twitter; and Ramya Raghavan, nonprofit and activismmanager at YouTube and will be followed by a Q&A led byBlackbaud’s Frank Barry focused on how nonprofits can best leveragethe various platforms and programs.

Additional sessions will include specific contentfor all Blackbaud products and nonprofit segments, organized by tracksincluding: CRM, Financial Management, Industry Specific, Marketing andCommunications, Online Solutions, Prospecting and Analytics, New Technologies,and Skill-Building Workshops.
