Carolina Springs Middle’s Jill A. Ford is the newest recipient of the Betty Blanton Educational Office Professional of the Year award from the South Carolina Association of Educational Office Professionals.
An educational office professional since 2000, Ford served on numerous Lexington District One Educational Office Professionals committees prior to chairing the Administrator of the Year Committee, the Scholarship Committee and, most recently, the Office Professional of the Year Committee. She went on to serve as secretary, vice president and president of LDOEOP.
Ford worked as a special education clerical assistant at White Knoll Elementary School for five years before accepting a position in the Counseling and Advisement office at White Knoll High as records clerk, then transferring to the guidance secretary position. As guidance secretary, she especially enjoyed assisting students with college and scholarship applications.
In 2006, Ford joined Carolina Springs Middle as executive secretary, playing a vital role in the planning year while the school was under construction. Twelve years and two principals later, she is fondly known as “Mom.”
Outside of school hours, Ford volunteered with the WKES PTA, WKMS PTSA Executive Board and School Improvement Council, and WKHS Band Boosters and SIC.
