Central Carolina Community Foundation Announces Food & Wine Series Events

March 12, 2013

COLUMBIA, SC – March 12, 2013 – Central Carolina Community Foundation, a nonprofit organization serving 11 counties in the Midlands by helping charitable individuals and businesses meet the needs of our community, will host a series of dinners this spring as part of the new Central Carolina Food & Wine Series.

The Central Carolina Food & Wine Series replaces the Foundation’s annual Central Carolina Food & Wine Festival Gala, which was for 18 years the Foundation’s key fundraising event.

We are delighted to offer this new series of upscale wine dinners as an opportunity to spend time with our supporters in a more intimate and conversational setting, said JoAnn Turnquist, President and CEO of Central Carolina Community Foundation. This new approach to our traditional festival enables us not only to offer a unique dining experience to wine and food connoisseurs, but also to engage in more one-on-one dialogue about the Foundation’s mission and the community’s role in helping us foster philanthropy in the Midlands and beyond.

Upcoming events in the series include:

Sunday, March 17:  The Oak Table will host a dinner featuring Saintsbury wines provided by Republic National Beverage Company. The event is sponsored by Schmoyer and Company LLC. Tickets are $100 each and may be purchased by visiting www.yourfoundation.org.

Tuesday, April 23:  Hampton Street Vineyard will host a dinner featuring Old World vs. New World Wines provided by Aleph Wines Corporation. The event is sponsored by BB&T. Tickets are $100 each and may be purchased by visiting www.yourfoundation.org.

Thursday, May 2:  First Citizens Bank will sponsor Eat, Drink and Give Local, a Young Professionals event in the First Citizens Courtyard on Main Street. The event will feature beer, wine, food and entertainment. Ticket prices and event details will be announced soon.

Seating for the dinners is limited. All proceeds assist the Community Foundation in awarding grants to nonprofits in the Midlands.

The upcoming Oak Table dinner will feature a delicious five-course dinner prepared by Executive Chef Joseph Jacobson and his culinary team.
