CLEMSON, SC – March 31, 2011 – The undergraduate business program at Clemson University is ranked 29th among public colleges in the country, according to Bloomberg Businessweek magazine’s 2011 ranking of “The Best Undergraduate Business Schools.”

According to the list, available at http://www.businessweek.com/bschools/rankings/, Clemson’s undergraduate business program is the highest-ranked program of its kind in South Carolina.

“This recognition is a testament to our college’s commitment to undergraduate education,” said Raju Balakrishnan, senior associate dean for the College of Business and Behavioral Science at Clemson. “We have an extremely active student advisory board, and, thanks in part to their input, the investments we’ve made in student engagement and career preparation are paying off.”

Clemson’s undergraduate business program also scored high among recruiters at No. 22 on the comprehensive list. Bloomberg Businessweek polled 775 corporate recruiters for companies that hire thousands of business majors each year. The recruiters were asked which schools have the most innovative curricula and most effective career services.

“We provide so much more than an undergraduate education. We prepare students to be career-ready as soon as they graduate,” said Balakrishnan. “Our unique living/learning communities, professional development programs and leadership development initiatives help our graduates to stand out in the marketplace.”

The undergraduate business program is ranked No. 71 on the comprehensive list of those at public and private schools in the country.
