Clemson professor Roger Liska recognized with Lifetime Achievement Award

CLEMSON, SC – December 8, 2011 – Roger W. Liska, professor and chairman ofconstruction science and management at Clemson University, has receivedthe Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Institute of Contractors (AIC) at the organization’s mid-year meeting in Alexandria, Va. 

Liska was recognized in October for his extensive service to theinstitute and the Constructor Certification Commission. He has been amember of the AIC more than 38 years and was one of the firstindividuals to be named a Certified Professional Constructor. During histime with the AIC, Liska has been both president of the institute andchairman of the Constructor Certification Commission. Currently, he isthe commission secretary and is spearheading the institute’s efforts inearning its AC and CPC Constructor Certification American National Standards Institute Accreditation. 

“This award is indicative of Dr. Liska’s dedication to raising thebar of excellence and professionalism for constructors internationally,”said Richard E. Goodstein, dean of Clemson’s College of Architecture, Arts and Humanities.“He has been recognized often for his work in integrating the teachingof construction science with the profession in ways that are meaningfuland important for all involved. This latest award is well-deserved.”

Liska has been teaching in the construction science and managementdepartment 28 years, and has been department chairman twice, mostrecently beginning in 2008. He continues to serve as director of theCenter for the Improvement of Construction Management and Processes andcoordinates the master’s degree and portfolio requirement for thedepartment.
