Clemson University Real Estate Foundation Names New Board Member

CLEMSON – August 11, 2009 – The Clemson University Real Estate Foundation board of directors named a new board member, Chris Pearce of Winston-Salem, N.C., to a four-year term.

Pearce received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Clemson in 1979. He is senior vice president and senior risk manager over the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions for Wells Fargo. He is married to Margie and they have three children.

The Clemson University Foundation also re-appointed three members to the Real Estate Foundation board. These members will serve a one-year term: William L. “Roy” Abercrombie Jr. of Greenville, George E. Biediger of Greenville and Neil C. Robinson Jr. of Charleston. Abercrombie will serve as chairman of the board and G. Graham “Goz” Segars of Hartsville will serve as vice chairman.

“We are pleased to have this group of directors on the Real Estate Foundation Board,” said Harrison F. Trammell, Real Estate Foundation president and chief executive officer. “We are excited about the individual skills and real estate-experience base each brings along with a passion for Clemson that they have to offer.”

The Clemson University Real Estate Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) entity organized solely to advance Clemson University and the Clemson University Foundation through gifts or purchases of real estate and property. It was chartered in 1990 to support the university’s educational and scientific goals. The board of directors is responsible for managing assets prudently through a policy that encourages the enhancement of the resources of the foundation.
