Clinton High’s Devil Regiment makes history with first finals appearance at Festival of Bands

September 29, 2026

The Clinton High School Devil Regiment marching band delivered a record-setting performance Saturday at the 46th annual Festival of Bands, hosted by Boiling Springs High School.

Following an early start to the day, the band swept the preliminary round in Class 1, taking top honors for percussion, color guard and music on the way to a first-place overall finish in its class.

The results earned the Devil Regiment something the program had never achieved before: a place in the competition’s finals. Only the 10 highest-scoring bands of the day, regardless of class, advanced to the evening round, meaning Clinton outscored several larger programs competing in higher classifications.

With little time to regroup between rounds, the students returned to the field and turned in an even stronger performance. The Devil Regiment finished ninth overall in finals among bands from every class.

Band supporters credited the students’ hard work for the milestone and thanked the community for its ongoing support of the program.

The Devil Regiment’s next competition is Saturday, Oct. 3, at 11 a.m. at Byrnes High School in Duncan. Community members are encouraged to attend and cheer on the band.
