Coldwell Banker Commercial Caine Facilitated the Sale of Historic Lewis Plaza Shopping Center

February 13, 2012

GREENVILLE, SC – February 13, 2012 – Coldwell Banker Commercial Caine recently facilitated the sale of the historic Lewis Plaza Shopping Center. Lewis Plaza, which included over 50,000 square feet of retail and office space, was sold to the newly formed partnership, Lewis Plaza Partners LLC, formed by AVTEX Commercial Properties, Inc. Coldwell Banker Commercial Caine will continue to manage and lease the shopping center. Frank Halter, Pete Brett, CCIM, and David Sigmon of Coldwell Banker Commercial Caine represented the seller, and Paul Holder of AVTEX Commercial Properties, Inc. represented the buyer.

Lewis Plaza Associates consists of 18 partners, some of which through families are third generation owners. According to Frank Halter it was the right time for the sale of the landmark property built in 1949.  Halter and AVTEX Chairman and Greenville native, Tex Small, began discussing this possibility 18 months ago, and were able to negotiate a transaction that was beneficial for all parties involved. AVTEX has a long history of commercial retail development and the AVTEX/Caine affiliation will insure continued and timely development of the property for the benefit of the tenants, the Augusta Road area and Greenville.
