Colliers International’s Paige Bryant finds new location for The Woody at 1649 Main Street

Colliers International’s Paige Bryant represented The Woody in the search for a new location for their restaurant and dance venue, ultimately landing at 1649 Main Street. Colliers International also represented the landlord, Main & Blanding, LLC.

1649 Main Street is a historic, redeveloped, multi-use building in the heart of Columbia’s Central Business District. The Woody will occupy 5,150 square feet on the ground and garden levels on a ten-year lease. Hendrix, a restaurant offering a fun atmosphere with an elevated menu, house-made cocktails and Instagram-worthy views, is located on the third floor and rooftop, occupying 6,000 square feet.

“We are coming back in a big way!” said Jennifer Windham, Managing Partner of The Woody. “We are excited to expand our business from 2,000 to 5,1500 square feet to accommodate our loyal patrons and attract new ones. Paige worked tirelessly to find the perfect new spot for us.”

Woody Windham, a longtime disc jockey and radio legend of almost 60 years in Columbia, along with his daughters Jennifer and MacKenzie, opened the dance venue in The Vista entertainment district in 2011. The business has been voted “Best of Columbia” by readers of the Free Times for seven consecutive years.

Main Street, and the 1600 block in particular, has seen a vibrant revitalization trend the past few years, truly deeming itself the “entertainment block” of Columbia’s Main Street. Recent shuffling and openings on the block include Michael’s Café and Catering remodel at 1620 Main Street and the opening of The Venue on Main, a TopGolf swing suite, at 1624 Main Street; the move of the Shoppes on Main to 1604 Main Street; and the opening of The Grand at 1621 Main Street. Other 1600 block of Main tenants include Mast General Store, Lula Drake Wine Parlour, Good Life Café, Nickelodeon Theatre, Sweet Cream Co. and Ally & Eloise Bakeshop.
