Columbia Opportunity Resource to host its Sixth Annual Time for Art Gala – November 23

October 7, 2019

Columbia Opportunity Resource’s (COR) Time for Art Gala will be held Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the Columbia Museum of Art from 7 to 11 p.m.

Time for Art celebrates the Midlands’ arts, nonprofit and business communities through a unique silent art auction. Attendees bid with volunteer hours for pieces of art and take home their winning piece(s) once service hours are completed.

Time for Art achieves COR’s main goal of community connectivity by highlighting the local arts scene, serving local nonprofits by connecting them with future volunteers and leading the community by taking action. The event expects to generate more than 1,700 service hours, the financial equivalent of $43,200 invested back into the community.

“Time for Art serves as the catalyst for connecting local artists and talented professionals in the name of volunteerism,” said Briana Bateman, chair of COR’s Board of Directors. “We plan to elevate the number of volunteer hours committed at this year’s gala so that we can have a lasting impact on the Columbia community for years to come.”

Tickets to the black-tie optional affair includes the silent art auction, open bar, heavy hors d’oeuvres and live entertainment from Big Time Entertainment. The work of more than 20 local artists will be showcased during the event and available to be bid on with volunteer hours.

Tickets are $60 for individuals and $110 for couples. Visit timeforartcolumbia.com for more information and to purchase tickets.
