What do employers need to know about the dangerous connection between workplace and and domestic violence?

Recently, Nexsen Pruet recently held its Quarterly Breakfast Briefing where they discussed:

  • Mitigating the risk of workplace violence;
  • Unemployment compensation and FMLA coverage for DV victims;
  • Dealing with restraining orders.

Workplace violence endangers all employees. Domestic violence often leads to workplace violence.

Can the workplace be an asset in helping in reducing the incidence of domestic violence?  “It may be that co-workers can see what no one else does,” said Nancy Barton, Executive Director of Sistercare.
