Dr. Oma Hester Joins Charleston Ear, Nose & Throat

CHARLESTON, SC – February 26, 2013 – Charleston Ear, Nose & Throat Associates announced the addition of Thomas Oma Hester, MD, FACS to their medical staff.

Dr. Hester, a board-certified and fellowship-trained ear specialist, will be a key participant in directing patient care and services for The Hearing and Balance Institute at Charleston ENT, a newly launched center with satellite offices, where physicians collaborate with audiologists to solve the most challenging hearing and balance problems.

Before receiving his doctorate from East Carolina University School of Medicine, Dr. Hester earned a BS in Biology from St. Andrews Presbyterian College. He performed surgical internships at Bowman Gray and the University of Kentucky, followed by an ENT residency at the University of Kentucky. He then completed his sub-specialty fellowship in Otology/Neurotology at the Ear Research Foundation, Sarasota, FL.

Dr. Hester is actively involved in hearing research initiatives and a frequent presenter at national and regional conferences on ear, nose and throat topics. He has authored a score of medical journal articles and a textbook chapter in the field of otolaryngology.

Board-Certified in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Neurotology Society, Dr. Hester is seeing patients at Charleston ENT’s West Ashley, Mount Pleasant and Summerville locations as well as The Surgery Center of Charleston.
