Dual Enrollment program at Greenville Technical College earns accreditation
June 24, 2025The Accreditation Commission of the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) has granted initial accreditation to the Dual Enrollment program at Greenville Technical College (GTC) along with five other institutions.
“Achieving this recognition reflects a strong institutional commitment to delivering high-quality opportunities for high school students – opportunities that play a vital role in supporting their successful transition to postsecondary education,” said Mike Altomari, incoming chair of NACEP’s Accreditation Commission.
As the only national accrediting body dedicated to concurrent enrollment partnerships, NACEP provides a trusted framework to ensure quality and consistency across programs. Its standards serve as a benchmark for achieving alignment in faculty qualifications, course content, student outcomes, and institutional support. Earning NACEP accreditation signifies that an institution has met the highest level of excellence in the design, oversight, and evaluation of its concurrent enrollment program across several key areas.
“We appreciate the thorough, independent review that NACEP has conducted,” said Dr. Larry Miller, vice president for learning and workforce development at Greenville Technical College. “We want to ensure that each student receives a quality experience while completing dual enrollment classes at GTC.”
To earn NACEP accreditation, concurrent enrollment programs conduct a self-study, document adherence to NACEP’s sixteen standards, and undergo a rigorous peer review process conducted by a team of representatives from NACEP-accredited programs as well as the members of the NACEP Accreditation Commission. NACEP accreditation is valid for five years once initially earned. Greenville Technical College has committed to upholding NACEP standards and reporting annually on program practices across the sixteen standards.
