Eight seconds of adrenaline: world championship rodeo returns to Fountain Inn this weekend
October 7, 2026
Dust off your cowboy boots and grab your hats: professional rodeo action is returning to the Golden Strip this weekend as the Fountain Inn World Championship Rodeo gets underway on Friday, Oct. 9, and Saturday, Oct. 10.
Sanctioned by the International Professional Rodeo Association (IPRA), the high-energy event brings together elite cowboys and cowgirls from across the region to compete in fan-favorite arena events—including bronc riding, barrel racing, roping, and heart-pounding bull riding.
Presented by Cannon-Byrd Funeral Homes & Memorial Park, the family-friendly weekend has become a staple tradition for local spectators, known for delivering non-stop arena thrills paired with classic Upstate community spirit.
Both nights of competition take place at the rodeo grounds located at 1313 Greenpond Rd. in Fountain Inn. The main rodeo action kicks off nightly at 8:00 p.m., with gates opening early at 6:00 p.m. to give attendees plenty of time to find seats, grab concessions, and explore local western vendors.
With large crowds expected, spectators are encouraged to arrive early. For tickets, general inquiries, or additional event details, call (864) 862-6373, visit fountaininnrodeo.com, or follow along on Instagram @fountaininn_rodeo and Facebook at Fountain Inn Rodeo.
