September 25, 2013

COLUMBIA, SC – September 25, 2013 – The New Morning Foundation is pleased to announce the promotion of Emma C. Davidson to the position of Associate Director of Strategic Mobilization.

In her new position, Emma will lead the Foundation’s grassroots outreach and lobbying efforts to bring responsible reproductive health policies to South Carolina. This includes developing, implementing and evaluating strategic campaigns to influence state and local policies.

“I am thrilled to have an opportunity to expand the reach of our movement,” said Davidson. “In a democracy, nothing is more powerful than a collective voice of the people. We have seen what South Carolina women can achieve when they work together towards positive change.”

Originally from Chicago, Emma has over 5 years of experience with nonprofits and advocacy communications. Emma holds a Bachelor’s degree in American History and English from Illinois Wesleyan University, and a Master’s in International Development from the University of Bristol. She worked on numerous political campaigns before becoming the Tell Them Program Manager in 2009, expanding the online network from 3,000 to 12,000 active members. Emma’s advocacy campaigns have included South Carolina’s first Virtual March on the Statehouse, promotion of a state Reproductive Bill of Rights, and reforming the Comprehensive Health Education Act.
