Erwin-Penland Named Public Relations Agency of Record for Bojangles’ Famous Chicken ‘N Biscuits
August 31, 2010GREENVILLE, SC – August 31, 2010 – Bojangles’ Famous Chicken ‘n Biscuits, one of America’s fastest-growing restaurant chains, has named Erwin-Penland its public relations agency of record. Billings were not disclosed.
Erwin-Penland is a 250-person full-service marketing firm based in Greenville, S.C., and a division of The Interpublic Group’s Hill, Holliday. The firm’s PR division will handle consumer media relations, crisis communications and support sponsorships and community activities for the Charlotte, N.C., company, including the upcoming celebration of Bojangles’ 500th location.
The assignment comes on the heels of a highly successful project Erwin-Penland conducted this past spring to celebrate the opening of Bojangles’ 100th South Carolina restaurant. “Cruisin’ S.C.” was a 10-week tour of the Palmetto state that offered free Bojangles’ food and a chance to win one of 100 Bahamas cruises. The tour also provided the opportunity to partner with South Carolina Future Minds’ Teacher of the Year and Teacher Appreciation Month programs that led to increased recognition of SC teachers and a $10,000 charitable donation to public education in South Carolina.
“We’re excited to have Erwin-Penland on board to help spread the word about Bojangles’ unique products and connections to the communities we serve,” said Bojangles’ Senior Vice President of Marketing Randy Poindexter. “Their prior work with Bojangles’ and demonstrated success with several other restaurant clients makes them a terrific choice to help take the Bojangles’ brand to the next level.”
“Bojangles’ combination of unique flavors, dedication to freshness and commitment to the community has created an almost cult-like following,” said Erwin-Penland Vice President and Director of Public Relations Barry Finkelstein. “We’re looking forward to working with them to increase customer loyalty and drive new visitors as they continue to expand their presence in the Southeast and beyond.”
