Family Shelter’s Summer Theater Benefit brings Peter Pan to the Stage

June 18, 2014

COLUMBIA, SC – On Thursday, July 17 at 7 PM, Family Shelter will hold its annual summer theater benefit with a special performance of Peter Pan at Town Theatre.  For the past 35 years, Family Shelter has helped homeless families in transition by providing emergency shelter in a stable living environment and helping residents build life skills needed to regain independence. Family Shelter is the only emergency shelter in the Midlands that welcomes homeless couples with children and single fathers.

Proceeds from this event will support basic daily living expenses for sheltering homeless families including electricity, water and overnight security.  Tickets are $15 for all ages and can be purchased online at www.columbiafamilyshelter.org.  Advance purchase is required as the event usually sells out.

Family Shelter’s Summer Theater Benefit is a great way for the whole family to have a magical summer night out and support a good cause. Come join us for an adventurous and fun evening in Never Never Land!

In addition to providing emergency housing for homeless families, Family Shelter offers educational and enrichment programs such as financial literacy, parenting skills and weekly music and activities for children.  You can learn more or donate directly to the Family Shelter through their website at www.columbiafamilyshelter.org and follow the organization on Facebook at www.facebook.com/FamilyShelter.
