Fountain Inn is Building a Third Fire Station and Funding is Already Locked In
March 26, 2026A city that has grown as fast as Fountain Inn eventually outgrows its public safety footprint — and city leaders have been planning ahead.
Full funding has been secured for a third Fountain Inn Fire Station, planned for the corner of Jones Mill Road and Scuffletown Road on the city’s northern end. As of early 2026, the city is moving forward with construction drawings and final pricing, with the station designed to dramatically reduce emergency response times for residents in the northern sections of the city and fire service area that currently rely on units traveling from the Main Street headquarters or the Jenkins Bridge Road substation.
The project reflects both the growth Fountain Inn has already absorbed and the growth it expects to continue managing. With the SpringHill Suites hotel under construction downtown, a 61-space public parking lot on the way, the Swamp Rabbit Trail extension breaking ground, and a new zoning code in place, the city’s infrastructure investments are happening on multiple fronts simultaneously. A third fire station fits squarely into that picture — not just as a response to today’s population, but as preparation for what the city knows is still coming.
No opening date has been announced, but with construction drawings actively underway, Station 3 is no longer a plan on paper — it’s a project in motion.
