“The Student Food Drive is a great way for the students to find creative ideas to collect food benefitting the local community,” said Young & Free SC Spokester Darryl LaPlante.  “Innovation is key to rallying support from the students at the participating high schools.”

This was the third annual Student Food Drive, a six-week hunger relief campaign designed to empower high school students. The students took initiative in planning, organizing and promoting the food drive at their schools and packaging and delivering the food to the Lowcountry Food Bank for distribution.

Students collected food through creative events like dances, sporting events, car washes and silent auctions to help fight hunger in their very own communities.
