Interim HealthCare of the Upstate announces its 2018 ‘Nurse of the Year’
May 17, 2018Interim HealthCare of the Upstate, a locally owned and operated home health and hospice services provider, announced that Kelly Noctor has been recognized as Nurse of the Year by Interim HealthCare, the leading national network of home health providers.
Noctor has worked as a registered nurse for 22 years and has worked for Interim HealthCare of the Upstate for almost seven years, bringing comfort and care to her patients and their families. The “Interim HealthCare Nurse of the Year” is awarded annually during National Nurses Week, which begins May 6 and ends on May 12, Florence Nightingale’s birthday.
“Nursing truly is a calling, and there is no doubt that Kelly answers that call daily,” said Charyl Schroeder, CEO of Interim of the Upstate. “Kelly consistently goes above and beyond to care for the patients Interim serves. Kelly’s compassion is immeasurable and Interim is a better place because of nurses like her.”
Nominations for Nurse of the Year were open to nurses across the country who work for Interim HealthCare. There were thousands of nurses who were eligible for the nomination, and Noctor was chosen out of that pool because of the compassion and dedication she exhibits daily.
Interim HealthCare of the Upstate frequently receives calls from patients and families expressing their gratitude for Noctor’s willingness to go above and beyond when delivering outstanding patient care. Her positive attitude touches the people she works with and the patients she treats. Noctor treats the whole patient by often addressing socioeconomic needs as well as medical needs. She always asks herself, “What would I want someone to do for me if I were in that same situation?’”
“I am honored to be recognized as Interim’s Nurse of the Year, and I’m grateful that my profession allows me to provide care and be part of so many lives in such a special community,” said Kelly, who graduated from Edison State Community College with her nursing degree in May of 1996. “Caring for people is more than just a job; it’s a true calling for me, and I have been lucky to do such meaningful work.”
