Chief Conservation Officer

Lowcountry Land Trust is proud to announce that its longtime Chief Conservation Officer, David Ray, has been selected as the next Executive Director of the Blue Ridge Conservancy in the North Carolina High Country.

Since 2018, David has led a conservation team that accomplished 76 projects protecting 23,855 acres and broadened the group of people in our community who consider themselves stakeholders in our work.

Applications for Lowcountry Land Trust’s next Chief Conservation Officer will be accepted until Friday, August 22.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Chief Conservation Officer contributes to the strategic direction of the organization. The Chief Conservation Officer is responsible for the management and oversight of the land protection program, including conservation easement transactions; fee simple transactions; mitigation projects; multi-sector partnerships; and public policy, as well as providing high-level guidance to the stewardship team. The Chief Conservation Officer also works closely with the Chief Advancement Officer to coordinate the work of the conservation team with policy, communications, fundraising, and outreach.
