Laurens County Cancer Association Receives Funding from Self Regional Healthcare Community Health Committee
June 2, 2026The Laurens County Cancer Association has been selected as one of eight nonprofit organizations to receive funding through the Community Health Committee of Self Regional Healthcare.
The award recognizes the LCCA’s ongoing work to support local cancer patients through direct, community-based assistance. Services provided by the organization include fuel assistance for medical transportation, nutritional support, and other critical resources designed to help patients focus on healing rather than financial hardship.
“This award is more than funding,” said Anna Miller, director of the Laurens County Cancer Association. “It is an investment in our neighbors, friends, and families who face the challenges of a cancer diagnosis every day. We are deeply thankful to Self Regional Healthcare for recognizing the importance of local, community-based assistance and for their commitment to improving health and wellness throughout our region.”
Miller noted that every dollar received by the LCCA is directed back into the community to serve those in need.
The LCCA has long served as a lifeline for Laurens County residents navigating the financial and logistical burdens that often accompany a cancer diagnosis. The organization’s model prioritizes keeping resources local, ensuring that support reaches patients and families in the community where it is needed most.
Self Regional Healthcare’s Community Health Committee funding reflects a broader commitment to improving health outcomes across the region through partnerships with organizations delivering grassroots impact.
