Mary Winter Teaster of Colliers brokers the sale of historic 2001 Park Street

October 11, 2022

Colliers | South Carolina’s Mary Winter Teaster represented Lumbergates, LLC in the sale of 2001 Park Street, an ±1,848-square-foot historic home-turned-office to Holler Garner Law Firm.

2001 Park Street is located in Arsenal Hill, an area noted in the National Register of Historic Places and is situated behind the United States district courthouse and a few blocks from the Richland County courthouse and the Governor’s Mansion in Downtown Columbia. According to Historic Columbia, 2001 Park Street may be the oldest extant structure in Columbia as it is believed to have been built in 1791. Many of the initial attributes have undergone renovations; however, the building’s Federal-style architecture made popular in the 1780s to the 1820s is still present in the building’s features.

Whitener & Wharton PA, a boutique commercial business transactional law firm, previously occupied the building for over 25 years. The new owner and occupier will continue this tradition. Holler Garner Law Firm’s area of practice includes personal injury, criminal defense, domestic relations, auto accidents and more.

“Mary Winter convinced me that she had the ability to quickly sell my office building,” said Attorney Tricia Wharton, the owner of Lumbergates, LLC. “She delivered on her promise to be persistent and quickly found a buyer at the right price. Throughout the entire process, she was responsive to my inquiries and kept me informed.”

“It was a pleasure working to find a new owner for 2001 Park Street. The excellent collaboration and cooperation between seller and buyer and the building’s history made this transaction memorable,” said Mary Winter Teaster, Senior Brokerage Associate with Colliers in Columbia.

Teaster is a Senior Brokerage Associate with Colliers | South Carolina with an emphasis on local small businesses and nonprofit organizations.
