Meredith Rose named Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year

SPARTANBURG, SC – November 29, 2011 – Spartanburg School District 7, Meredith Rose, assistant principal of Jesse Boyd Elementary School in Spartanburg, SC, has been named the 2012 Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators.

Mrs. Rose was selected from an outstanding field of elementary school administrator candidates by a veteran panel of judges. The other finalist for the award was Gregory Watchinski from Carolina Springs Elementary School, Lexington District One.  “We are very pleased that Meredith Rose has been named as the SCASA Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year,” said Molly Spearman, executive director of the South Carolina Association of School Administrators. “She is an outstanding ambassador for education in our state.”

Russell Booker, Superintendent of Spartanburg School District Seven stated, “Mrs. Rose exemplifies all of the qualities of an outstanding educator. First and foremost, she is genuinely concerned for each of the students entrusted to her. Secondly, she is a gifted educator with a passion and enthusiasm for the profession. Finally, she has the character, conduct, and commitment that is essential to be successful as an administrator. She is a true ambassador for the students and staff at Jesse Boyd.” This award was presented on Tuesday, November 29th in a surprise announcement at Jesse Boyd Elementary School.
