Midlands Authority for Conventions, Sports & Tourism Announces New Hires

COLUMBIA, SC – November 14, 2008 – The Midlands Authority for Conventions, Sports & Tourism welcomes new hires to the Columbia Metropolitan Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center (CMCC).  Taylor Miller has joined the CVB as their new Sales Assistant. The CMCC welcomes Meredith Morris as their new Outside Sales Manager and the MACST has hired Moses Leon Drafts as their Senior Account Manager.

Taylor Miller  will be responsible for researching and qualifying groups that are a great fit for the Columbia product. He has experience in tourism through working with the Marketing Telluride Inc out of Telluride, Colorado.  A University of South Carolina Graduate, he is a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity and actively participates in community service events.

With an extensive background in Sales,       Meredith Morris’ major role with the CMCC is to obtain business from groups that typically hold their events outside the state of South Carolina.  Morris is a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Service Sorority and volunteers with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, Epworth Children’s Home, and Harvest Hope Food Bank.

Moses Leon Drafts comes to the Midlands Authority for Conventions, Sports & Tourism with more than five years management experience in accounting.  He will be responsible for the organization’s general ledger, fixed assets, and other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Human Resources and Finance.  Prior to joining the MACST, Drafts has been employed with Golden State Foods in Lexington, SC.
