MTC Federal Credit Union Joining Habitat For Humanity For 2026 Build

March 1, 2026

MTC Federal Credit Union, a prominent financial institution with deep roots in the Fountain Inn community, has officially announced its partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County for the 2026 Credit Union Build. The project, which kicked off with a wall-raising ceremony on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, aims to address the growing need for affordable housing in the Upstate.

The Fountain Inn-based credit union is joining a coalition of 11 local financial cooperatives to fund and construct a first-of-its-kind duplex in the Bramlett community. Located at 101A Sturtevant Street, this build is a centerpiece of Habitat Greenville’s 40th Anniversary Collective, a milestone initiative celebrating four decades of community service.

MTC Federal’s involvement in the project coincides with its own 50th-anniversary celebration this year. As part of its “Celebrating 50 Years of Service, Strength, and Community” theme, the credit union has pledged a $50,000 community giveback initiative titled $50K for 50. A significant portion of these funds, including a direct $10,000 donation to the Habitat CU Build, will go toward ensuring local families have access to safe and stable homeownership.

Beyond financial contributions, teams of volunteers from the Fountain Inn branch and the surrounding Upstate offices will provide hands-on labor throughout the spring and summer. These employees will work alongside the future homeowners to frame walls, install siding, and complete the interior of the new duplex.

The partnership underscores the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People.” By pooling resources with other local institutions, MTC Federal continues to invest in the long-term stability of the neighborhoods where its members live and work. The completed duplex will eventually provide two separate families with a foundation for financial independence and a place to call home.
