Non-profits invited to participate in Charleston County’s Disaster Assistance Home Repair Program

April 8, 2025

Applications are now open for the first phase of Charleston County’s Disaster Assistance Home Repair Program, which invites non-profit organizations to apply for grant funding to repair owner-occupied homes damaged by extreme weather events.

To be considered, non-profit applicants must have experience successfully managing a home repair program serving low-to moderate-income households. Applications will be accepted until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2025.

Once non-profit partner organizations are selected, homeowners will have an opportunity to apply for repairs to be completed on their home. Additional information regarding this second phase will be released soon.

Please note that this program is not intended for substantial rehabilitation efforts. Additionally, repairs caused by deferred maintenance or damage not due to severe weather are not eligible for funding.

This program is funded by a South Carolina State Housing Trust Fund Disaster Assistance Program grant in the amount of $928,877.

To learn more and apply (non-profit organizations only at this time), please visit the Charleston County Procurement Department’s Bid Opportunities site. Applicants must register for a Bonfire account on the Procurement portal via the “Register” button in the top right corner. Those who already have a Bonfire account should just log into their existing account.

The RFQ Number for this program is 6080-25B – Nonprofit Grant Partner to Conduct Critical Home Repairs resulting from Disaster/Damage associated with Extreme Weather Events.
