Palmetto Goodwill launches virtual career center to serve displaced workers

April 7, 2020

Palmetto Goodwill continues connecting the unemployed and underemployed in the Lowcountry with meaningful professional opportunities through its newly created virtual call center.

Career navigators are positioned to chat and assist with job placements, online career credentialing, and training resources for both individuals and businesses. Employment-seeking individuals can receive information on companies hiring, free online courses for career advancement, and live support from career navigators. Businesses also are encouraged to participate in its programs designed to effectively bring back laid-off workers into their operations, as well as connect with prospective employees. The call center is currently operating 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

“Uncertain times demand innovative strategies,” said Jermaine Husser, VP of Mission Services. “Our response as a leader in the workforce development industry has been to pivot quickly to virtual career services, to help the thousands of our neighbors get back to work.”
