PEP continues to grow, hires two new staff

Public Education Partners (PEP) is proud to announce the addition of two new staff positions, Carol Beard as Program Associate and Michelle Rash as Community Organizer.
“PEP’s new strategic plan clearly sets our course to continue to advocate for conditions at the school, system, and community 
levels that encourage the recruitment, retention, and advancement of top-quality teachers,” said Angel Whaley, PEP’s Interim President & CEO. “PEP’s human capital is our greatest asset in bringing about the systems-level improvements we seek in Greenville County. Carol and Michelle’s experience will make them invaluable members of our team as we live out our renewed mission and revitalized advocacy efforts.”
Carol is a graduate of LaGrange College, with a degree in general business. She has previously worked in accounts receivable, college administration, and has served in numerous capacities for the PTA, including State Board Vice President.
“I am excited to be part of the PEP team, supporting the teaching profession and offering opportunities to our students,” said Beard. “I truly believe in helping every child succeed.”
Michelle is a graduate of Furman University, with a degree in politics and international affairs. She has previously worked at 
the Greenville Chamber of Commerce, the Greenville Area Development Corporation, and most recently was a Campaign Specialist at the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
“I am thrilled to be joining such a dynamic and passionate team,” said Rash. “I am immensely grateful for my own education, and I am motivated to work every day to ensure all our teachers and students are supported by a quality public education system.”
PEP’s mission is to lead the community in acting collectively to support, strengthen and advance public education and student achievement in Greenville County Schools.
