September 23, 2014
LEXINGTON, SC – Pleasant Hill Middle Assistant Principal Michele Zee is one of 11 leaders from across the state chosen to participate in the 2014–2015 South Carolina Education Policy Fellowship Program (SC-EPFP).

Zee serves as an assistant principal at Pleasant Hill Middle School. She was named the South Carolina 2014 Middle School Assistant Principal of the Year by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA) in December 2014.

During the 10-month intensive professional development program SC-EPFP fellows will conduct in-depth discussions of policy development and current issues on the local, state and federal levels. Fellows will learn from experts working in education and other fields relating to students and will engage in dialogue with key decision-makers affecting public policy.

The SC-EPFP operates under the auspices of the national Education Policy Fellowship Program of the Institute for Educational Leadership in Washington, DC, which oversees fellowship programs in 12 states and the District of Columbia. In South Carolina the program is coordinated by the South Carolina School Improvement Council, located in the University of South Carolina College of Education, with the assistance of the South Carolina Department of Education’s Office of School Leadership.
