SC Foundation That Helps Children With Autism Receives $10,000

COLUMBIA, SC – September 23, 2013 – Winston’s Wish Foundation, a nonprofit foundation of Love for Children with Autism, announced a $10,000 donation from Pink Sorbet, a Lilly Pulitzer Signature Store that spearheaded a unique fundraising effort for the organization.

In November 2012, Pink Sorbet launched the sale of a custom designed Winston’s Wish Lilly Pulitzer scarf created in honor of children with autism across the state of South Carolina.

Approximately 500 scarves were purchased by customers in the store as well as autism advocates across the country. The $10,000 contribution will support ongoing community outreach initiatives of Winston’s Wish, as well as several new projects expected to launch in the upcoming year.

“This generous donation from Pink Sorbet, a Lilly Signature store, will certainly impact the lives of children with autism in South Carolina,” said Marcella Ridley, founder of Winston’s Wish Foundation.  “ This money will be used in a variety of ways to help them reach their fullest potential.  We are so grateful for this gift.

Pink Sorbet will  present a check to Winston’s Wish  Foundation during a reception at Pink Sorbet, 2726 Devine Street in Columbia on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013 at 11:00am. All attendees will have the opportunity to enter a raffle for a Lilly Pulitzer tote bag containing a clutch, bowtie, scarf and other fabulous items.
