SYNNEX Corporation’s Bob Stegner to Chair 2012 March for Babies in Greenville County

GREENVILLE, SC – January 25, 2012 — March of Dimes of Greenville County announced that Bob Stegner, Senior Vice President Marketing, North America for SYNNEX Corporation, a Fortune 500 company with its U.S. headquarters based in Greenville, will serve as Chair for the 2012 March for Babies in Greenville County. Mr. Stegner will lead the charge to reach the event goal of $680,000 to support March of Dimes research and community programs which help moms have full-term pregnancies and babies to begin healthy lives. The 2012 March for Babies in Greenville County will be held on April 28th at CU-ICAR. Registration begins at 8:00 AM and the walk starts at 9:00 AM.
“When you participate in March for Babies, you give hope to the more than 9,000 babies born too soon each year in South Carolina. The money you raise supports programs in our state that help mothers have healthy, full-term pregnancies and funds research to find answers to problems that threaten our babies,” says Bob Stegner (pictured left). “I’m serving as the 2012 Chair for March for Babies because I believe if we can give a child a healthy birth, we have a positive impact on their future quality of life. I challenge Greenville County’s businesses and families to join me in raising critical funds so more families will be able to experience the joy of having a healthy baby.”
A seasoned marketing and sales executive, Mr. Stegner has a rich history in effectively supporting charitable causes. Since moving to Greer, South Carolina, Mr. Stegner has served on the Board of Directors for South Carolina Charities and the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation since 2010 and was a supporting leader of SYNNEX Share the Magic, SYNNEX Corporation’s annual fundraiser supporting local children’s charities. Previously, he has been instrumental in raising funds for Meals on Wheels through his leadership on the South County Senior Services Board in Southern California.

The most urgent infant health problem in the U.S. today is premature birth—which affects more than 9,500 babies in South Carolina each year. Each year, the South Carolina Chapter of the March of Dimes invests in mission initiatives statewide, including research grants and local community services. Through these program services, the March of Dimes continues working to prevent birth defects and infant death, reduce South Carolina’s premature birth rate, increase access to prenatal care and educate healthcare providers and women about having healthy babies. Funds raised through the 2012 March for Babies will support these initiatives.
