Upstate Pregnancy Center to host diaper drive-thru in Laurens Aug. 11

Laurens County parents and guardians who could use help with diapers and wipes can pick up free supplies Tuesday, Aug. 11, when the Upstate Pregnancy Center returns to Laurens with its Diaper Drive-Thru.

Distribution runs from 4 to 6 p.m. in the parking lot at Wattsville Drug, 24 Sirrine St. Families remain in their vehicles while volunteers hand out supplies, keeping the process quick and simple.

The drive-thru is one piece of the center’s broader effort to meet practical, everyday needs for families across the county. Along with diapers and wipes, staff can point participants toward other no-cost services offered through the center. Formula may also be handed out, though quantities depend on what is in stock that day.

Anyone attending for the first time should bring a photo ID along with proof of guardianship. Acceptable documentation includes a child’s birth certificate, a Medicaid or WIC card, or foster care paperwork. Families who have taken part before generally do not need to bring documentation again.

Supplies are handed out per child, with a cap of two children per household, and distribution continues until supplies run out.

There is no charge to participate, and any Laurens County family in need is welcome. Residents are asked to pass the information along to neighbors, coworkers or church members who might benefit.
