Really Good, Really Big, Really Cheap Book Sale returns to Upstate August 17-18

GREENVILLE, SC – August 17-18, 2013 – The Greenville Literacy Association is currently collecting gently used books for its 12th Annual Really Good, Really Big, Really Cheap Book Sale August 17-18, 2013, at McAlister Square in Greenville.

The popular event, which annually draws thousands to its book sale, is scheduled for its first-ever two-day run.  Greenville Literacy is accepting book donations of all kinds, including fiction, nonfiction, paperback and hardback editions, CD’s and audio books (no magazines or encyclopedias please) to meet the expected demand.

Clean off your bookshelves now so that you can restock them at the book sale August 17-18, said Greenville Literacy’s spokesperson Cheryl Bentley.  The Really Good, Really Big, Really Cheap Book Sale is truly a community celebration of literacy and books.  Our goals are to offer tens of thousands of books in good condition at really low prices, to raise awareness of the Association’s adult literacy work, and to provide funds for the Adult Basic Education, Pre-GED, and English as a second language programs in our five learning centers across Greenville County.  Key to making that all happen is getting lots of great books to sell!

Upstate citizens and businesses can help by bringing books that they have finished reading to the Greenville Literacy Association Learning Center at McAlister Square, 225 S. Pleasantburg Drive, Suite C-10, Greenville, SC, Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.   Literacy Association staff can meet donors at their car with a cart for easy drop off by calling in advance to (864) 467-3456.  Donors can also receive a tax statement for their donation.

Additional collection sites across Greenville County include BI-LO Supermarkets, Earth Fare on Pelham Road, Whole Foods on Woodruff Road, Starbucks drive-throughs in Greenville County, and other locations across the county.  For a full list of donation locations, visit www.GreenvilleLiteracy.org.
