Vernetta Walker will facilitate “Developing an Equitable Board” for Upstate nonprofit board Members on October 22

DNA Creative Communications, in partnership with the Community Foundation of Greenville, the United Way of Greenville County, the Hollingsworth Funds, the Jolley Foundation and The Graham Foundation invite Upstate nonprofit board members to attend “As We Govern: Developing an Equitable Board” facilitated by national expert  Vernetta Walker, president and CEO of Vernetta Walker & Associates Consulting, on Tuesday, October 22 (8:30 – noon) at Kroc Greenville (425 Westfield Street, Greenville). The October 22th session will focus on board governance strategies. As a result of participating in this session attendees will be able to articulate why diversity, equity and inclusion matter for mission impact; utilize specific tools and practices to strategically and intentionally recruit diverse board members; and understand how to leverage and champion diversity and inclusion within their board and organization.

Vernetta Walker is president and CEO of Vernetta Walker & Associates Consulting. With over two decades of experience as a nonprofit executive and consultant, Vernetta is passionate about helping organizations maximize their impact through exceptional leadership, intellectual engagement, and cultural competence. She is a frequent keynote speaker and presenter on leading practices, sector trends, effective board engagement, and creating a culture of inclusion.

Prior to founding Vernetta Walker & Associates, Vernetta served as chief governance officer for BoardSource, where she led their sector-wide diversity, inclusion, and equity work.
