October 28, 2013

COLUMBIA, SC – October 25, 2013)- As part of their calendar of events this fall, the United Way of the Midlands Young Leaders Society will host Learning with Leaders on October 29, at 7:30am, at Embassy Suites Columbia. The featured speaker will be South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson.

The Learning with Leaders series has seen a variety of speakers from different careers, industries and viewpoints, said Jessica Amick, Professional Development Committee Chair for the Young Leaders society. We’re very excited to have Alan Wilson as our speaker for the event this year.

The mission of YLS is to foster participation, commitment, growth, volunteerism, professional development and education of our members to further the goals and objectives of United Way of the Midlands by sustaining a leadership society that focuses on young professionals.

To do so, the Society hosts numerous events each year, from philanthropy to social events, which encourage young professionals to strive to be leaders in the Midlands.

Amick believes, Mr. Wilson will provide us with yet another example of servant leadership and professionalism that our members will undoubtedly benefit from.

Those interested in attending this event can register online at YLSMidlands.com. Admission is $10 for YLS members and $20 for nonmembers. Breakfast is provided with registration and event should last until 9am.
