108 South Carolina industrial facilities honored for safety accomplishments

August 3, 2020

Today, the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance (SCMA) recognized 108 industrial facilities throughout the state for outstanding workplace safety accomplishments during 2019.

Facilities with a low rate of incidents resulting in lost workdays, job transfers, or restrictions were nominated for the recognition. Plants that had an incident rate below the statewide average for their NAICS code earned the award. The 2019 award winners were to be recognized during the annual SCMA Safety Summit, which has been postponed to March 2021 due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

“The companies who earned this prestigious award have gone above and beyond to ensure safety is a top priority every day at their facilities,” said Sara Hazzard, President & CEO of the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance. “Manufacturers recognize that a strong and impactful company culture is grounded in the practices and principles where the safety of all associates is
a constant priority. We are proud to recognize so many South Carolina facilities for their commitment and achievements in workplace safety excellence.”
