11 Non-profits Showcased at South Carolina Federal Credit Union Foundation Fair

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – South Carolina Federal Credit Union Foundation is pleased to host eleven nonprofits to showcase the role of corporate giving and power of employee engagement. The event will be held tomorrow, Thursday, October 16th from 4p.m.- 8p.m., at the corporate headquarters, 6265 Rivers Avenue.

In conjunction with the 2014 International Credit Union Day and its theme, “Local Service, Global Good,” the evening will offer opportunities for involvement in each of its featured nonprofits.

The eleven nonprofit partners include; American Red Cross: Carolina Lowcountry Chapter, American Red Cross: Columbia Region, Lowcountry Food Bank, Lowcountry Orphan Relief, MUSC Children’s Hospital, Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital, Trident United Way, United Way of the Midlands, Georgetown County United Way, Water Missions International, Eagle Harbor Ranch and the South Carolina Federal Employee Relief Fund.

Since the Foundation’s first giving year in 2013, it has raised over $250,000 for local organizations. The Foundation was created in 2012 to streamline the credit union’s fundraising process and provide a Life Simplified™ method for employees to allocate and track tax-deductible donations. It also provides an opportunity for employees to familiarize and engage with nonprofits. South Carolina Federal employees have also contributed nearly 2,000 volunteer hours.

The event is open to South Carolina Federal employees and families.
