17th Annual Blythewood Spring Championship Rodeo returns April 24 – 25

April 22, 2026

Experience Columbia SC Sports is happy to once again work with the Blythewood Spring Championship Rodeo presented by Scout Motors. Now in its 17th year, the event takes place at the Prisma Health Arena from Fri., April 24 – Sat., April 25. Gates open at 5:30 each night with the rodeo beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Blythewood is a premier stop on the International Professional Rodeo Association national circuit. Affectionately known as the “Greatest Show on Dirt,” the rodeo features top-ranked professional cowboys and cowgirls competing in eight action-packed events. Rough Stock competitions include saddle and bare back broncs and bull riding, while timed events include steer wrestling, women’s barrel racing and breakaway roping. Youth riders will participate in the SC Shavings Mutton Bustin’ event.

This year’s special act features Funny Man Jack “One Eyed Jack” Johnson, who is a 2025 award-winning rodeo entertainer, having performed at 42 rodeos across six states (and counting!).

Prisma Health Arena has become one of the most competitive rodeo venues in the Southeast and the Blythewood Rodeo Committee and its competitors are all proud of the community growth and development the rodeo spurs through donations to youth groups and charities

Guests can also enjoy food offerings, a mechanical bull, inflatables, pony rides, a boot race and more. The event will happen rain or shine and ticket prices range from free for buckaroos age five and under, $12 for those ages 6 – 12 and $20 for adults. This wholesome family event draws thousands of attendees annually, so advanced ticket purchases are encouraged.

Please note that pets, coolers and personal chairs are not allowed, but guests are welcome to bring stadium seats. To purchase tickets or learn more about the event, please visit www.blythewoodrodeo.com.
