1901 Main produces innovative virtual holiday celebration for tenants and families with video

Colliers International | South Carolina and AgFirst Farm Credit Bank develop a virtual event to unite families and provide holiday entertainment

Colliers International | South Carolina’s Real Estate Management Services (REMS) team partnered with its client and 1901 Main Street building owner, AgFirst Farm Credit Bank, to coordinate, script, film, produce and host an inaugural virtual holiday celebration for the Columbia office tower tenants and their families.

“We are so appreciative to Colliers for finding a safe, creative way to bring festivities to our employees and their families,” said AgFirst Human Resources Vice President Jeff Payne. “This event illustrated two of our core company values — reliability and collaboration. Our employees look forward to this event every year and we are pleased that the tradition continued. Despite being physically distant, it’s these strong community partnerships that draw our relationships closer.”

Shelly Pyle, Colliers International Property Manager, knew this year would create unique obstacles for the well-known holiday parties historically held in the lobby of the building. Pyle diligently collaborated with members of the AgFirst employee engagement team to devise a plan for producing an event that was safe and accessible for families, as well as entertaining for all ages.

“Our number one priority was to keep everyone safe while developing our holiday tenant appreciation event,” said Pyle. “We decided a virtual event was our best option.”

Pyle and her property management team sought local talent to create the various acts for the holiday production. SCSanta, known as Santa Patrick, portrayed old Saint Nick through story time and readings. Rhythmics Performing Arts, a dance, art, music, drama and karate studio in Lexington, provided dancers for various routines. The Carillon Carolers, Columbia’s soprano, alto, tenor and bass Victorian caroling foursome, sang holiday carols to conclude the evening.

Coal Powered Filmworks filmed the event and provided lighting and production assistance. The filmed production was presented to 1901 Main tenants and families through Zoom on Thursday, December 17. Attendees of all ages watched the event from their homes and were provided holiday treat bags courtesy of the building.

“The production was a great example of how far many companies, including AgFirst and Colliers International, are going to safely celebrate the holidays,” said Payne.
