1×1 Design Celebrates Three Years

COLUMBIA, SC – 1×1 Design marked the three year anniversary of the firm on June 1, 2014.  Since its founding, 1×1 Design has developed a portfolio of work across many market segments and project types.  Within the last three years, 1×1 Design has completed projects across four states, with clients including: University Foundations for The University of South Carolina; South Carolina Student Loan; Webster University; Northwestern Mutual Financial Network; Pasta Fresca; HiWire Trampoline Park; Owen Real Estate; Columbia College; MedCare Urgent Care; The Palmetto Club; Trenholm Road United Methodist Church; Swamp Cabbage Brewery; and Jamie Scott Fitness/JSF Sweat.

“When I launched the firm three years ago, I never anticipated that we would have the opportunity to complete and participate in the variety of work in which we have,” states Asheley Scott, firm President.  “I could not be more pleased with the growth we have experienced, the team we have pulled together, or the type of work we have had the opportunity to complete.  1×1 Design’s team of professionals continues to evolve and we look forward to continuing to build upon our creative work and technical expertise as architects and designers.”

As the firm enters its fourth year, projects in the works range from restaurants to office buildings; renovations to new construction.  Projects on the boards include the Offices of Mickle and Bass; renovations for SimpleSurance; renovations at Harsco Rail; renovations at Nickelodeon Theater; sanctuary renovations for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church; additions at Corner Pantry; renovations for Prevo Drug; and the relocation of The Little Gym Columbia.  In addition to the private clients, 1×1 Design will continue design and construction administration on projects for several public clients including renovations and additions for Calhoun County’s John Ford Community Center; interior renovations at multiple schools for Dorchester School District Two; multiple projects across the University of South Carolina campus; and ongoing projects at the Columbia Metropolitan Airport.  The firm also continues to complete residential projects throughout the region.
