2016 Connected Communities grant recipients announced

Central Carolina Community Foundation announced the seven Midlands charities who were selected as the recipients of the 2016 Connected Communities grants.

These charities are launching new projects that will enrich the Midlands region and embrace one or more of the three focus areas, identified by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and Gallup as the three most important elements of an attractive community: Welcoming Community, Vibrant Social Offerings, and Superb Public Spaces.

The grant recipients are:

  • Columbia Museum of Art: “Cut! Costume and the Cinema”
  • Doko Meadows Park Foundation Amphitheater Project
  • EngenuitySC: What’s Next Midlands
  • Riverbanks Society: Waterfall Junction at Riverbanks Botanical Garden
  • SC Philharmonic: Conduct the Phil
  • SC State Museum: RACE- Are We So Different?
  • The Jasper Project: Marked by Water
