2016 MLK Scholarship application deadline November 1st

October 14, 2015

UPSTATE, SC- Martin Luther King, Jr. took hold of the freedoms promised by our nation’s founding fathers and used his constitutional rights when he made his speech and developed his dream. By taking action on his dream, Dr. King was able to change the future of men, women and children, and impact so many aspects of our current society. It is this spirit that inspired us to continue the theme for the 2016 MLK Dream Scholarships.

To change the future of Upstate youth, the Urban League needs your help identifying students interested in applying for the annual MLK scholarships, a major initiative since the inaugural year in 2006. Eight scholarships will be awarded totaling over $100,000 and presented at the MLK Dreams in Action Program on January 16, 2016, at 9:00a.m., at the Greenville Technical College Barton Campus Auditorium.
