September 15 Ball to showcase the Palette of the Rose

The 2017 Rose Ball Committee has chosen The Palette of the Rose as the theme for the decorations of the 24th Rose Ball, Greenville’s longest-running charitable community event. The Rose Ball will take place on September 15, 2017 at The Poinsett Club.

Allison Spinks, 2017 Rose Ball Decorations Chair, explained this year’s theme: “The Rose Ball of 2017 is all about the “palette” of the rose.  The choice of this theme celebrates not only the many varieties of colors of the rose but also the depth and meaning of such a historic and lovely flower.”

The 2017 Rose Ball decorations will feature the styling of more than 20 artisans, each of whom will display their creativity throughout the Poinsett Club.  These room designers will transform the club’s entrance, hallway, rooms and a staircase into works of art that illuminate the hue of the rose.  Various rose colors will be highlighted, including light pink, peach, orange, coral, yellow, white, cream, purple, dark pink, burgundy and green.

The Rose Ball room designers for 2017 include the following:

About the Rose Ball

The first Rose Ball, held September 24, 1971, started a long and valued legacy of fundraising to support many projects and programs that were in need in the local community. Over the past 46 years, the Rose Ball has raised more than $3.3 million to benefit the physical, emotional, educational and cultural needs of the people of Greenville. Held biennially, the ball has established a reputation of being one of the most beautiful and elegant affairs in the Southeast. As part of the tradition that began in a garden, hundreds of homegrown roses are donated from the gardens of Greenville for each event. For more information, visit http://www.theroseball.org/
