2020 Tacos n’ Tequila Fiesta postponed for crowd safety

May 27, 2020

To protect the hungry, taco-loving crowd of Greenville and guarantee an unforgettable time for all, the annual Tacos ‘n Tequila Fiesta has been postponed until further notice.

As one of the fastest-growing festivals in the Upstate, with more than 1,300 people in attendance last year, the decision to postpone the event came from the need to protect attendees and allow participating restaurants time to get back on their feet after being shut down. Since the event has always operated under the appropriate health and safety guidelines governed by the state, the decision to postpone the event was made in consideration with the number of attendees allowed.

“Although we’re confident in our ability to keep smaller events safe, large scale events are still difficult,” said Tammy Johnson, CEO of High Spirits Hospitality, the organizer of the event. “Instead of rushing the festival for a small crowd to participate, we want to set the date back a little longer so that more of our community can have the chance at celebrating safely.”

Event organizers will announce a new date soon. Until then, all ticket sales have been suspended and current ticket sales will be transferred to the new date. Attendees who can’t make the new date will be able to request a refund once the new date is announced.

Despite the setbacks, chefs and bartenders will still be battling it out to craft the best taco and Lunazul 100% Agave Tequila cocktail at the Old Cigar Warehouse.

While High Spirits Hospitality is itself a small business, the group has worked diligently to support fellow small business owners throughout the past three months. High Spirits will be directing some of the ticket proceeds and donations to assist the festival’s restaurant partners. Find out more online at http://www.tacotequilafiesta.com/
