October 8, 2013

WHAT: The Congaree Vista’s signature open house kicks off the holiday season with artistic performances, live music and dancing. More than 60 galleries, shops and restaurants will open their doors to showcase their holiday treasures before the Vista’s tree lighting with our mayor. Many businesses will offer complimentary beverages, hors d’oeuvres and shopping discounts, and Vista Lights attendees are invited to stroll through the Vista’s art galleries and businesses, restaurants and bars on this festive evening.

WHEN: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, November 21.

WHERE: The Congaree Vista, with pedestrian-only traffic on Gervais Street from Assembly to Gadsden; and Lincoln and Park Streets, between Senate and Lady Streets.

TREE LIGHTING: The evening’s highlight will be a tree-lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. at the intersection of Gervais and Lincoln, featuring Columbia’s mayor and other dignitaries. Be there by 6:30 p.m. to see the music and dance performances that will be opening for the lighting.

NEW THIS YEAR: Vista Lights attendees are encouraged to come early and stay late for a scavenger hunt and the chance to win big prizes. Attendees will also find music throughout the streets and special performances throughout the Vista’s shops, restaurants and businesses.

MORE: Vista Lights attendees can catch the holiday spirit with horse-drawn carriage rides.

SPECIAL: Free parking available in Vista garages.
