5th Annual Blythewood Fall Championship Rodeo happening this weekend

Experience Columbia SC Sports is happy to once again to work with the Blythewood Fall Championship Rodeo presented by Scout Motors. Now in its fifth year, the event takes place at Prisma Health Arena in Blythewood from Fri., Oct. 24 – Sat., Oct. 25. Gates open at 5:30 each night with the rodeo beginning at 7:30 p.m.

This wholesome family event draws thousands of attendees annually to what has become one of the most competitive rodeo venues in the Southeast. The Blythewood Rodeo Committee, event sponsors and competitors are all proud of the community growth and development the rodeo spurs through donations to youth groups and charities.

Blythewood is a premier stop on the International Professional Rodeo Association national circuit, as more than 50% of the IFR World Championship finals qualifiers this year competed in Blythewood at some point along the way. Affectionately known as the “Greatest Show on Dirt,” the rodeo features top-ranked professional cowboys and cowgirls competing in eight rough stock and timed events, including bull riding, barrel racing, bucking broncs, steer wrestling and more, in an attempt to qualify for the January 2026 IFR Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City.

This year’s special act is Arizona-based, award-winning Barrelman and Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA)-sanctioned funnyman Houston “Big Daddy” Stuart, who regularly entertains at top rodeos and Professional Bull Riders (PBR) events across the country.

Attendees can also enjoy food offerings, pony rides, the DOKO mechanical bull, inflatables and a Saturday night petting zoo presented by Clayton Homes, as well as enter a boot race for the chance to win a pair of Ariat cowboy boots. The event will happen rain or shine and ticket prices range from free for visitors ages five and under, $12 for those ages 6 – 12 and $20 for adults.
