5th Annual ColaJazz Fest, Mark Rapp

Mark Rapp, the Executive Director of the ColaJazz Foundation, talks about the upcoming ColaJazz Fest – September 24, 25. Saturday night’s gala features two intimate concerts inside the main lobby of the State Museum. Tickets are $50 per person for general admission and $85 for VIP.

Sunday’s event is $20 per person and features five bands, food trucks and more.

On Saturday night, the lineup includes the Organa Trio (6PM), offering a classic jazz lineup of an organ with guitar and drums, this Columbia-based trio is heavily influenced by soul and the blues. At 7PM, hear Los Angeles musician, Aimee Nolte, a jazz pianist, vocalist and thriving YouTube creator, constantly pursuing new recording, performing, and educational projects. Though primarily a jazz player, she knows over a thousand songs and can play them at the drop of a hat. And at 8:45PM, you can listen to jazz great, Carl Allen, whose drumming has fueled the bands of Freddie Hubbard, Christian McBride, Branford Marsalis, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock and countless others.

On Sunday, come out and hear the Randy Lucas Trio (bluegrass), Chris Reed, Rodney Foster, Dick Goodwin, and Gino Castillo and Buena Vista Legacy Band.
