A Weekend of Fun: Celebrating Athletics and Community at Presbyterian College

November 15, 2023

This weekend, Presbyterian College Athletics is gearing up for a grand finale to the fall season, promising a great mix of football and basketball action along with a community celebration. It’s not just any weekend – it’s a BIG one for Blue Hose fans.

On Saturday, the Blue Hose football team will conclude its season in a face-off against conference rival Morehead State University. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 pm, but the excitement begins before kickoff. This game is designated as Educators Appreciation Day, generously sponsored by PL Developments. In a show of gratitude, all educators and their families will receive free admission. To claim tickets, educators simply need to present their ID at the will call booth. Before the game kicks off, the senior football players and cheerleaders will be honored in a special recognition ceremony.

The celebration doesn’t end there. On Sunday, the spotlight shifts to the women’s basketball team as they take on the defending Southern Conference Champs, East Tennessee State University, at 3:00 pm. But before the hoops action begins, the entire community is invited to join in the fun at the Sunday Funday Block Party.

Ashland Avenue, the street in front of Templeton Gymnasium, will be transformed into a festive zone with a DJ spinning tunes, three food trucks serving up delicious fare (featuring Lakeview BBQ, Culbertson’s Kitchen, and Sweet Icee Delights), and an array of activities for all ages. From a video game station to yard games and carnival-style amusements, there’s something for everyone.

Best of all, the block party is free for all to attend. Basketball game tickets for the showdown between the Blue Hose and East Tennessee State University are a steal at just $3 per person.

Presbyterian College Athletics invites the entire community to come together, cheer on the Blue Hose, and enjoy a weekend filled with sports, celebration, and community spirit. Whether you’re a die-hard fan, an educator looking for a day out with the family, or someone simply seeking a good time, this weekend at Presbyterian College has something special for you.
