Graham announces highlights of South Carolina projects in the second FY 2024 spending package
March 24, 2024U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) announced that multiple projects across South Carolina will receive funding as a part of the second Fiscal Year 2024 spending package.
Graham made these funding requests to the Senate Appropriations Committee, of which he is a member.
Some of the South Carolina projects that will receive funding from the second package are highlighted below:
- Aiken Technical College:Â $1 million to expand the nursing program.
- AnMed Health (Anderson):Â $11.2 million for the emergency department.
- Cherokee County:Â $2.55 million for the emergency operations center.
- Claflin University:Â $3.6 million to expand the nursing program.
- Colleton County:Â $637,195 for an emergency operations center.
- Coker University:Â $2 million to expand healthcare education.
- Dillon County:Â $2 million for an emergency operations center.
- Francis Marion University:Â $1.2 million for technology and equipment.
- Greenville Technical College:Â $2.98 million for welding equipment.
- Lander University:Â $2.4 million for nursing facilities and equipment.
- Midlands Technical College:Â $6 million for workforce development.
- MUSC Health (Orangeburg):Â $4.3 million to improve cancer treatment.
- Newberry College:Â $506,000 for a nursing simulator.
- Prisma Health (Greenville): $10.7 million to increase hospital capacity for cardiovascular procedures.
- Roper St. Francis Hospital (North Charleston):Â $8 million to improve access to healthcare.
- South Carolina Emergency Management Division:Â $7 million for the State Emergency Operations Center.
- University of South Carolina:Â $3.01 million to expand the nursing program.
- University of South Carolina Lancaster:Â $2.8 million to expand the healthcare workforce.
- University of South Carolina Upstate:Â $1.3 million for nursing equipment.
